Terrace cultivation inspired by Sepp Holzer’s Permaculture
Around the “Lake 1” and the Valley-Garden-Lake in Tamera, raised beds and terraces meander around the shore, natural mixed cultures grow diverse vegetables, fruit trees and cereals.
We manage our 1000 square meters of growing area with a modern crop rotation system for vegetables, cereals and green manure for mulch production. Mulch and worm compost are used to fertilize the soil.

On 2000 to 3000 square meters of slopes between the terraces, we care for fruit trees and bushes that flourish in this mixed culture. They only need minimal irrigation as they grow close to the water on saturated soil with diverse niches and biotopes. In their shade we grow more sensitive vegetables like lettuce, which can thrive even in the summertime.
